Club Champion Criteria
The recipient of the Gisborne Rookies Club Champion Award is to be a player in their final year of U16's who has, in his playing career with the Rookies, played in a manner following the code of conduct ideal of good sportsmanship, leadership, honesty, loyalty & courage.
The recipient will have shown commitment both on match day and at training, will have accepted the advice and guidance of coaches and training staff together with accepting responsibility for his own and the team's performance. |

These awards are presented to players who demonstrate outstanding courage, commitment & perserverance.

This award commemorates a local policeman & member of our club who passed away in the late 1980's. |
Tim McCall was a player with the Rookies who sadly passed away in a traffic accident. |
Joe Rizzo was a former coach and president of the Rookies who passed away due to cancer. |
