Mouthguards
The club policy is that that mouthguards are mandatory both at training and on game days.
Many boys resist wearing a mouthguard because it is uncomfortable - this is usually because they are wearing an off-the-shelf version from a sports store or chemist. The only solution is to have a custom-made mouthguard fitted by a professional. Any dentist or dental technician can do this. Neill Park is doing the mouthguard fittings at our registration nights this season. The mouthguards will cost $65.00 - this is claimable on private 'extras' health insurance. Neill can be contacted on 9744 4405.
Helmets
Helmets are highly recommended and can be purchased from any sports store
Uniforms
The Gisborne Rookies colours are red, white and blue. Jumpers are provided by the club and must be returned at the end of the season. Players must have their own shorts, socks and boots. Shorts are royal blue for home games and white for away games. Socks are royal blue. By 2008, all players will be required to wear RDFL branded socks and shorts. These are available at Foodworks and Sportspower and they are also available on the Registration nights.
